I've found this power cord to be better than the oem cord that came with my HP. The main thing I like better about this unit is that it has a nice green LED that lights up when power is connected to it. It makes it much easier to tell if it's plugged in than the oem unit without an indicator. Also, this unit is made every bit as well as the oem unit and cost a fraction of what an oem unit would cost. It's just an unbeatable deal all the way around. One thing that do recommend for this AC adapter/power cord or any AC adapter for that matter, is to make a couple of loops near the plug that goes into the laptop and tape them securely so they stay in the loops in order to keep any stress off of the little rubber sleeve around the wire where it connects to the plug. That seems to be one of the main areas where computer power adapters start to come apart. By making a couple of loops to take the stress off of that little sleeve and securing it very well with black tape your AC adapter cord will last much longer, especially if you move your laptop around a lot like I do. I give this AC adapter and the seller 10 stars for great quality and an amazing price. It really can't be beat for any amount of money. I highly recommend the product and the seller to everyone!!!

I purchased this charger for my HP Pavilion DV6500 laptop. I had it for about 2 weeks when it would start intermittantly stop charging my laptop. I would shake the adapter box a couple of times, thinking it might be a loose wire or something, and it would work again just fine. Then after having for another week without any problems I could not get it to work at all. I tried everything I could to get it to work and nothing seemed to help. After a more through inspection of the cable I found a hold in the outer insulating rubber covering and could see all the way to the wires underneath. The device has not been put through any unusal handling on my part and should have been more throughly inspected at the QA product line. This was a complete waste of money and I would NEVER recommend this product to anyone. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go through HP or whoever the manufacturer of your laptop is for ANY kind of cable or powering device!!!!

I sent them a message back and they asked me to send the broken one back and they would send me another. Only thing is it had to be USPS first class mail. I did anyway and they sent me another one. "Awesome laptop, but it has lighting issues" 2010-01-08

I love this laptop. It's awesome. I had only one problem with it when I originally bought it and that was the battery life. It only lasted for 40 mins. I eventually bought an extended battery and everything was fine. A year later, I'm starting to notice that this laptop has backlight issues. The screen will go completely dark in the middle of usage or during startup. I paid over a thousand dollars for the laptop as well as virus protection and warranty. The warranty doesn't really help now that Circuit City is defunct. I used to rant ans rave about how awesome HP is, but after this one bights the dust I'm probably going to invest in Dell although I'm not too fond of their products either.
